Present the

“THAMES VALLEY EXPRESS”

SATURDAY 24th APRIL 2010

A SPECIAL EXCURSION TRAIN TO WINDSOR & ETON

Or visit London by alighting at

 HARROW & WEALDSTONE

Join us on our special class 67 diesel-locomotive hauled tour with Riviera Trains air-conditioned carriages.  We will start from HOOTON (large car park/M53) at around 07.15 and pick up at BACHE, CHESTER and CREWE. There is then a speedy journey south through the countryside of the English Midlands and the Chiltern Hills to the outskirts of London. The train stops briefly at HARROW & WEALDSTONE where passengers may leave the train if they wish to explore London. The train continues south through the outskirts of London before turning west into the Thames valley and finally crossing the River to WINDSOR AND ETON (Riverside). Our return journey is by the same route, arriving home mid/late evening.

Harrow & Wealdstone is an ideal dropping off point for London where there is a fast (14 mins) service to Euston or five departures an hour on the Bakerloo Line direct to the tourist areas of Central London. A one day Travelcard costing £7.50 will give you all the flexibility you need to explore London by public transport. We expect to arrive by 11.00 and leave for the journey home at 18.00.

Windsor and Eton station is at the heart of these interesting twin towns which sit astride the Thames. Visit Windsor Castle, just a short walk from the station, or take an open top tour hop-on/hop-off bus tour which includes both Windsor and Eton, take a river cruise or simply explore the two towns on foot. We expect to arrive at noon and depart for home at 16.45.

Fares:    Standard Class:   Adults £50, Children (5-15) £30, Children under 5 sharing a seat, free.

First Class:         Adults £75, Children (5-15) £45, Children under 5 sharing a seat, free.
